about

I'm Billy

Ever since I took my first photo on my Nintendo DSi, capturing images enchanted me. Something about the palm tree and sky aesthetic had me obsessed. Now after 8 years of professional video and photo work, the same spell still pulls me to look through the viewfinder.

Born and raised in Colorado, I adore the outdoors. Many of the shots in this portfolio were captured while adventuring during my time in scouting. A combined 14 years earned me my Eagle Scout rank and gave me some of the best character building of my life. Not to mention some good photo ops.

My years as a lensman have come in the shape of freelance business. Weddings, real-estate, water treatment facilities, motor sport, equestrian, and many things in between. But all have likely involved drones! For 6+ years I’ve been a FAA Part 107 certified pilot. I also operate FPV drones. I’ve flown house fly-thrus, chased sports cars, and more. Whizzing by the ground at 70mph has a unique impact, and I truly believe it’s a wildly versatile way to get a one of a kind shot. After upgrading from EZ-vid, I’ve had 10 years of experience editing in Premiere pro and using other Adobe software. Canon is my flavor of choice in the camera world. I don't think anything drives my creativity like music does. An appropriate tune is half the battle in telling the tale.

There’s nothing I love more than being out in the field. Planning, visualizing, and capturing. The satisfying moment that the subject comes into view of a tight tele shot. My leadership experience has given me an assurance to trust my instincts when the moment comes. I love helping others build together to complete the mission.

I’m operating in the Rocky Mountain West, and currently open for full-time opportunities. I’d love to build a creative partnership on your next project. If that might suit you, let’s get in touch:
